Picatinny Arsenal Hosts Tender Drill : On a nice sunny October 4th the Picatinny Arsenal Fire Department broke in there new Tanker 22 with a Morris County Mutual Aid drill consisting of Tenders from around the county as well as aerial trucks and some pumpers. The drill started around 9:30 am with a briefing then off to a secure area  where the tenders took the two mile or so trip from fill site to dump site where ladder trucks flowed  water simulating a structure fire. The drill lasted till around noon then lunch was served and good training tips were swapped. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Hosts A Tender Drill : On a perfect May Sunday morning 14 Tender from 3 counties got together and drilled on filling tenders from draft spots around Budd Lake as the tenders traveled the long route to the dump site where hole pumpers drafted from portable pools and feed two ladder trucks and a few portable monitors. Budd Lake Goes to Warren Cty. Fire Academy for Car Fire Drill : On Tuesday Night July 29th Budd Lake Firefighters lit up the night sky at the Warren County Fire Academy with a car fire drill. The department had three donated cars that they could burn for training so when the real thing occurs they will be ready. Crews took turns attacking the fires with the supervision of the instructors of the academy. Firefighters trained on things like chocking the wheels, cutting the hood and making quick knockdowns of the fires. The last evolutions was a multiple car fire scenario with 3 cars burning and two crews working the attack. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Drills in Another Vacant House : For the second time this month the Budd Lake Firefighters got to practice there skills on a vacant structure, this time it was a one story house slated to be torn down the next day. Firefighters ran different fire scenarios simulating fires in different areas of the house. The crews took turns stretching handlines, cutting vent holes and search and rescue for two hours under the watchful eye of training officers making sure there are ready for the real one. Budd Lake Firefighters Drill in Abandon Restaurant : Budd Lake Firefighters were granted permission to drill at a 
Abandon Restaurant on Rt. 46, firefighters where able to train on many different firefighting tasks. Firefighters split up into four groups and rotated doing such tasks as venting roofs and windows, forcing door and breaching walls. The building was torn down the next day to make way for a new strip mall. Photos By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Fire Conducts Open Burn : The Budd Lake Fire Department held a training drill on fighting Forest Fires in a field off of  Stevens State Park Road burning abought 2 acres of land. The crews dug fire lines as members of the NJ State Forest Fire Services lit the fires. The crew drilled on all the tools from rakes to brooms and the use of bladder bags to control the fires.
