Budd Lake Preforms High Angle Rescue : Thursday afternoon August 20th the Budd Lake Fire Department  was called to Paragon Village Senior Housing Complex  for a  worker stuck and hurt on the roof of a three story building. Upon arrival fire and ems workers found that a sprinkler inspector was inside a roof area when he became over hearted in the 100 degree heat. Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to get the worker out while EMS workers prepared him for removal off the roof. Crews from the Budd Lake and Schooleys Mt. Fire Companies lowered the man down to EMS workers from Budd Lake and Atlantic Ambulance who along with Medic 57 transported him to Hackettstown Hospital. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Flanders Vacant House Expoldes : On Thursday morning September 25th neighbors were greeted by a loud explosion that took the one story home at 500 Drakestown Rd. and leveled it to a large pile of rubble. Flanders fire chief and the Mt. Olive Police officers called in the Morris County Prosecutors Office who set up a crime scene and started the investigation. There was no fire upon arrival of the fire crews so the focus was on searching the structure. Crews from the Morristown and Patterson Urban Search and Rescue Teams were called in along with a FAST assignment from the Budd Lake Fire Department to start the task of searching the house to be sure the house was vacant. Additional crews were called from Roxbury and Chester Fire Companies to assist. After a thorough search the house was conformed to be empty. There were no injuries at the scene and companies were starting to be released around 5:00 pm and all units cleared up around 8:30 pm. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Firefighters assist in Duck Rescue : Sunday afternoon the Budd Lake fire co. was dispatched to assist with rescuing some ducks that had gotten into a storm drain at the Shell station at the corner of Rt. 46 and International Drive South. Squad 56 ran water down the drain while Mt. Olive Police Officers and a Animal Control officer waited at the other end to catch the ducks. There was a mother and 7 babies removed from the drain. Budd Lake Firefighters Rescue Man From Roof : Friday afternoon the Budd Lake Fire Company was called to #5 Tall Oaks Road for the worker injured on the roof of his home. Ladder 58 put up its 100-foot ladder to the roof and a ground ladder and with the help of the Budd Lake and Flanders First Aiders they were able to put the man into a stoke’s basket lower him to safety. The Budd Lake Fire Department was dispatched to assist Washington Township’s Schooleys Mt. Fire Co. with removing a piece of a metal shed from a tree. Ladder 58, Chiefs 50 and 51 arrived and found a 10x20 foot piece of aluminum that was blown by a gust of wind from two blocks away and was hanging 25 feet from a tree branch. Ladder 58's crew along with a crew from Schooleys Mt. Company set up the ariel and knocked the piece of aluminum free and fell to the ground without incident. You just can’t make this stuff up.
