Budd Lake’s New Engine 59 Gets its First Run : On Wednesday, June 17th firefighters were called to Rt. 80 at exit 26 for the car fire upon arrival there was as small fire under the car resulting from a crash when the driver hit a guard rail. Engine 59 responded and used a one inch trash line to quickly extinguish the fire. Although the fire was small only 3 days after the truck was in service it was put to use. There were no injuries at the scene and companies were cleaned up in fifteen minutes.  Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Handles Fully Involved Car Fire : Monday afternoon June 15th  the Budd Lake Fire Department responded to 300 International drive for the car fire. Car 52 Chief Evans reported a working car fire Squad 56 arrived and stretched and inch and three quarter hand line and attacked the fire. Crews were assisted by Engine 53 and Atlantic Ambulance EMS 4 as the fire was brought under control in 15 minutes. There were no injuries at the scene but the car was a total loss. Budd Lake Firefighters Finish Off Car Fire : Firefighters responded to Rt. 80 west at mm 25.4 for the reported car fire on a tow truck. Firefighters arrived to find the tow driver unhooked the car and NJ State Police were using fire extinguishers to knock down the fire. Budd Lake Tackles Truck and Brush Fire on Rt. 80 : Thursday morning April 16th Budd Lake Firefighters responded to Rt. 80 east at mm 24.4 for the truck fire. Chief Maloney arrived and reported a fully involved pick up truck with a 60 x 250 foot brush fire Engine 53 arrived and stretched a inch and three quarter line and started to knock down the brush and truck. Squad 56 pulled up and worked on finishing off the brush. There were no injuries and all lanes of the highway were reopened in around 45 minutes. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Hackettstown / Washington Township Car Fire : Hackettstown and Washington Township Fire Companies were dispatched to a car fire on Rt. 46 in the Trade Zone Auto Sales lot. Hackettstown Fire was the first to arrive and stretched two hand lines and made quick work of the fire that was in the bed of a pickup truck, as the rest of the units arrived and assisted with overhaul. Budd Lake Extinguishes Car Fire on Rt. 46 : Thursday morning December 18th the Budd Lake Fire Department responded to the intersection of Rt. 46 and Old Budd Lake Road for the fully involved car fire. Chief Maloney arrived and reported a working car fire, Squad 56arivved and  stretched a inch and three quarter hand line on the fire and had it knocked down in five minutes. Flanders Handles Car Fire In Lowe’s Lot : On Sunday morning October 12th the Flanders Fire and Rescue Squad’s responded to the Lowe’s parking lot for a car fire. Car 90, 92 and Engine 95 arrived and found a fully involved car fire by it self in the back lot. Engine 95 stretched a foam line and had the fire knocked down in 10 minutes. Another Trailer Fire in Flanders : Tuesday Morning sent Flanders and Budd Lake Firefighters to the Morris County Transfer Station for a truck hauling trash that was on fire. Tower 96 and Squad 56 laid a supply line and stretched a hand line as the trailer was emptied on to the pad so firefighters could pull the garbage apart and hose it down. The fire was extinguished in a half hour. There were no injuries and the County and Town Fire Marshal as well as the  Mt. Olive Police are investigating the fire. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Handles Car Fire : In the early morning hours of September 5th the fire department responded to Overhill Road for the reported car fire. Car 51 arrived and found a the trunk area fully involved in fire. Car 50 arrived and took command as engine 53 arrived and started knocking down the fire. As companies were putting out the fire it was reported that this was a possible arson fire so command notified the Fire Marshal’s office of the fire. Squad 56 and the Budd Lake First Aide Squad were on the scene. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and the Morris County Prosecutors Office. Roxbury and Budd Lake Tackle Car Fire on Rt. 80 : Saturday afternoon in the hot July heat firefighters from Roxbury and Budd Lake were called to a car fire on Rt.80 west at exit 27. Budd Lake Car 50 arrived and reported a working fire as Roxbury’s Engine 22 and Budd Lake’s Engine 53 arrived and started to attack the fire. While crew were fighting the fire the gas tank broke open sending burning fuel down the highway, crews quickly used extinguishers to put the fuel out but the fuel got into the storm drain. Squad 56 from Budd Lake teamed up with a engine from roxbury and set up a dike around the drain and starting checking other drains down the line. The Morris County Haz-Mat was called to the scene to assist with clean up. Crews were cleared up after one and a half hours. There were no injuries and the NJ State Police are investigating the fire. Flanders Firefighters Tackle Three Trailer Fires In Two Days : Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12  kept firefighters busy with three trailer fires at the Morris County Transfer Station on Gold Mine Rd. Around 2:30 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to the station for a report of a trailer on fire. Car 90 arrived an instructed Tower 96 to set up next to the trailer and start operations out of the bucket, after stretching to a hydrant on site and finding it was dead Budd Lake Firefighters were called to the scene to assist with water after fixing the water problem  Tower 96 started knocking down the fire and then the workers dumped the trailer onto the pad as firefighters from 96 and Budd Lake’s Squad 56 pulled apart the pile and wet it down. Several hours later a call came in for a second trailer on fire on the site. Once again Flanders and Budd Lake went to work on the trailer with tower 96 setting up again using Engine 53and 95's foam the fire was knocked down. Flanders firefighters remained on the scene with Haz-Mat and County officials till 4:00 a.m.. Then Saturday night around 11:00 p.m. companies were back at the transfer station again for a trailer on fire as the others crews went to work putting out the fire, this one lasted until around 2:00 a.m.. All three fires are under investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor’s office. There were no injuries reported at the fires. Photo's By Kevin Maloney

Budd Lake Fire Tackles Truck Fire : Saturday afternoon got busy for firefighters as a man knocked  on the firehouse door alerting firefighters that there was a puck up truck on fire next door. Firefighters rushed out and found a pick up truck on fire under the middle of the truck. Engine 53 and Squad 56 arrived and quickly knocked down the fire but the gas tank was burned through and the crews had to plug up the holes and clean up the spilled gas. Budd Lake Extinguishes Car Fire : On the afternoon of Tuesday May 20th the Budd Lake Fire Department responded to the High Noon Bar on Rt. 46 for the car fire. Car 50 arrived to find a fire under the hood.  Engines 53 arrived and stretch an inch and three quarter handline and had the fire knocked down in minutes with the assistance from Squad 56. Budd Lake Battles Camper Fire on Rt. 80 : Budd Lake Battles Camper Fire on Rt. 80

On Saturday Night April 28th Budd Lake Firefighters responded to Route 80 West at exit 25 for the car fire, upon arrival they found a small camper fully involved in fire. Squad Company 56  stretched an inch and three-quarter hose line and started knocking down the fire while the New Jersey State Police closed two lanes of traffic. Squad 56 and Engine 59 worked the fire and had it under control in fifteen minutes while the Budd Lake First Aid Squad stood by. The couple was moving from NY City to Ohio and lost nearly everything they had in the camper. The New Jersey State Police are investigating the fire and there were no injuries at the scene.
